Sorry for the delay, but the internet has been more off than on, so I've not been able to post! That is what happens when you leave the "big" city and head out for the outlands of rural America. With that said, it is SOOO good to be out of the big city! It is quiet and I am surrounded by open land which has allowed my mind to relax and open itself a little bit more too. Plus, it's easy to talk about things like what others "should" do to market or promote their business, but there is NO substitute for actually experiencing things first hand. I posted last week how websites and other work is being done remotely and often without ever talking to an actual person. But as I am currently on the property of the ranch I am building a website and producing video for I can't imagine trying to do this at a distance.
I have the opportunity to fully experience what I want to showcase with all five of my senses - imagine! But there is more. Marketing isn't about selling a product, it is meant to be about sharing what you love with others so they can experience that also. How can you share an experience you've never had first hand? Yes, this is more time consuming, slower, less efficient in many ways...and no, it's not a paid by the hour type of job. But, life is about LIFE - and to be surrounded by land, animals, and the elements at their best makes it all worth it. So much of the way we live is by compartment - live, work, play, love - all separate experiences. But what if life was about all four at once? Building new systems of work and life and art really require each of us to step out of our individual compartment and be open to new experiences. Then, pick the best of what you love and expand on that! Being at the Source of what I am working to promote and share with others is awesome. Need a different picture? All I do is walk out my door and take it - like I said, awesome!
