I am new to the world of horses, so the perspective I bring is just my own - but here is something I think I am seeing, I hope you will let me know if I got it right or wrong!
In traveling and seeing first hand the bond between women and their horses, there is no doubt there is great love here. While dogs and cats require some lifestyle adjustments, horse are a lifestyle, period.
While researching who was actually watching all the videos about horses (not the information or how to kind), I could see the love going into making them. In looking at the demographics, it is almost exclusively girls 13-24 years old and women 45-55 years old.
What is the common theme for all women in these age groups? The young girls and young women are still innocent in their loving. That first horse is like a first love - all love, no reality. The bubble hasn't been burst, the heart yet unshattered, and the dream still present - love can conquer all.
Now, fast forward a few decades and for those of you over 40 I am sure you know where I am going with this.... Innocence is usually lost, reality gets put in check in direct relationship to responsibilities, and while the dreams may still linger, the expectations are a little less intense.
But the memory will always remain of that first great love, not with a boy, but with the horse. We all want to love and be loved and the relationship a woman has with her horse is just that. It's not one way. It's not judgmental. And it doesn't require any change for us on the outside which is a huge relief as the changes on the outside just keep coming...
It is this love of the horse that has bit me and makes me want to share it with more than people who love horses, but people who want to remember and find love again.
What do you think? I would love to hear from you and what brings you first to the horse and then either keeps you there or calls you back!
Welcome to my Journey!
I'm inviting you to join me on my journey as I seek to find a new way of being in an old set of systems. It's hard, but worth it!
