Welcome! My name is Jill.
I am a nomadic outlander and I live on Survival Road with my dog Freedom.
I seek truth, travel at the speed of my own light, and hope someday to find my way home.
But until then, I tell stories of the wisdom and ways I've learned walking the crucibles and running a few gauntlets.
This is my story, how can I help you tell yours?

When I'm not surviving, I do two things. Narrative coaching/therapy with you and storytelling my journey!
Here you can find a bit more about how I can best help you tell the story of your crucible and why it is SO important! My style is to throw away the old labels like trauma, shame, failure, or victim. But be warned, I won't feel sorry for you. My plan is for you to walk away with a new degree of trust in yourself, a deeper level of respect, and a lot more love in your heart. I will believe in you until you do too. I don't scare easy and no matter what your crucible was or is, there is no greater honor than to hold your truth until you are ready to own it 100%.

Here you will find my story using integrative media storytelling. But be warned, it is raw, authentic, and still unfolding. I choose to walk the hardest road I can find, so while I love it, I also cry a lot! No polished professional outfits or comfy couches for me. I focus on survival, rarely have plumbing, electricity or wifi, and have spent more than a decade traveling the desert alone with my dog, Freedom. There's a lot more I could say, but for that you will have to follow along over at survivalroad.net! (I do have degrees, a license, and a LOT of personal and professional cred - but i prefer experience to expertise by education and conforming to norms? well, you can see...

Every life has crucibles.A crucible isn't an adventure, it isn't facilitated, and it isn't planned. It is rarely expected or wanted. There is the before of it, the journey through it, then the crash when it is over. It begins when the warrior returns home, the hero's journey ends, or the maverick hits the wall. This post crucible crash is the fallout and aftermath in which you are alone, broken, and forgotten. This is also the moment where all your power lies. And the story you choose to next tell will define your life. |
To own your story, you first must name it.
My work is to give you structure, containers, and labels for your story - not to tell you what it is or should be. I am not building you up to lead or breaking you down to follow. Your truth is yours. But, in a world full of humans overloaded with information, entertainment, and almost zero ability to focus - the capacity to be seen, heard, and heal is almost gone.
This work is NOT about success, making money, status, or anything else the ego might give you a high five for. It is also hard because it is lonely and uncomfortable looking at our truth. But . . .
This work is NOT about success, making money, status, or anything else the ego might give you a high five for. It is also hard because it is lonely and uncomfortable looking at our truth. But . . .
. . . it is necessary if your life is going to have purpose, meaning, and depth.
And the great big secret is - the only person who needs to see you, hear you and heal you, is you.
And the great big secret is - the only person who needs to see you, hear you and heal you, is you.
Here is how I can help you tell your post crucible story!
One to One!Narrative Coaching/Therapy is the
technical term. There is great power and learning when we do the work within. Are you ready? |
More than One!Small groups or business have crucibles too. How can you use your story to connect with each other and those you serve?
|
or Help Others!Storytelling is as old as time.
Using it to heal the wounds of war, trauma, and loss is too. It's time to make it part of the process for us all! |
2021 is going to continue this collective crucible we all began in 2020.
We are in a point of time where life is about more than just our own story. We are all sharing in a collective crucible moment that has not reached the post crucible crash, yet.
Doing this work will not only help you make sense of what is happening, but it will create strength and structure for those you love. As hard as our own personal crucibles are, watching those we love enter into both their own and the ones we share can be even more difficult. Having the tools to manage this is as important as the survival skills and stuff so many focus on as solutions. |
